Hawaiian Airlines Adds Service to Seoul

Hawaiian Airlines yesterday announced new service between Honolulu and Seoul-Incheon which will commence in January 2011.

The proposed new service still requires final approval from South Korea’s Ministry of Land, Transport and Maritime Affairs.

Airlines don’t typically announce new routes until they have confirmed during negotiations with regulators and port authorities that approval is forthcoming, so we expect the service to be approved shortly.

New routes to Honolulu, or any Hawaiian airport for that matter are good news for Hawaii’s tourism industry and the Big Island. Hawaiian also plans to increase frequency of their Tokyo-Honolulu service to daily service.

Hawaiian Airlines operates connecting routes between Honolulu and both Hilo and Kona so travelers can easily get to the Big Island from either Seoul or Tokyo.
